MCB, QUANTICO, VA. ![]() We will muster 17 - 20 September 2007 for our 12th Annual Reunion. There will be early registration on the 16th and checking out on the 21st. We will be staying at the Crossroads Inn (Base Hotel), located at 3018 Russell Road. I recommend that you use the back gate off I-95 or US Route 11 this will be Russell Road. The hotel is 2 1/2 miles from the back gate. We have forty (40) rooms blocked for our use and if you intend to stay at the host hotel I recommend that you make your reservations as soon as possible. Otherwise when the block of rooms is filled you will have to find quarters off base, as these are all the rooms that I could get blocked! To make your reservations you must call 1-800-965-9511. The price of our rooms will be $59.00 per night, with no tax added and you must state that you are with the A/1/7 Marine Corps Associ-ation - Korea 1950 - 1953 - using RESERVATION ID 810! There is no tax added to your room. CUT OFF IS AUGUST 14TH! |
There are also efficiencies, and two room suits. The prices for these are: $67.00 and $76.00.
Room Amenities: All standard rooms and suites feature two double beds, refrigerator, micro-wave, coffee maker, TV/VCR, and phone with a data port. The Suites also include a dishwasher, two-burner stovetop, sofa bed, and web bar with sink. The Efficiencies have one double bed, a sofa sleeper, and a kitchenette. Continental breakfasts will be available daily. Base Attractions: Adjacent to the Clubs at Quantico and two miles from the Commissary, Exchange, Package Store/Gas Station, McDonald's, Subway, and one mile from Col. William Barber, Semper Fitness Physical Activity Center. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS There will be an early muster on the Sunday the 16th for those who want to report early for our 12th Annual Reunion. This is a free day with nothing scheduled. Registration will be held on the Monday the 17th. A free day to tour the base. There will be a tour to the Marine Corps Museum on Tuesday the 18th and a dinner that evening at the Officers' Club. This is an all day event if you want to see it all! On Wednesday the 19th I am trying to arrange a tour of the memorials in Washington, D.C. I have not included an amount for the transportation |
in this newsletter as I am trying to make arrangements through the Marine Corps at no cost to us. This is providing enough of you will let me know if you wish a tour! (See the section for this on our registration form.)
On Thursday the 20th we will have our annual meeting and our banquet that evening. The regular schedule of events will be published in the April newsletter once everything has been nailed down to our satisfaction. I have added a new section to our reunion registration form this time asking for volunteers to assist me in the administration of our reunion. One or two people alone cannot run a reunion as it takes many people to ensure that our reunion is successful. Therefore, when submitting your application please indicate if you are willing to assist and what position would you to prefer to do. CHECK IT OUT!
