This isn't a very good showing so far! Remember we only have until 1 SEPTEMBER TO RESERVE OUR ROOMS.
For the $100.00 registration fee you will receive 4 continental breakfasts, a welcome aboard party (hosted by the hotel), a real Hawaiian Luau - with a band and dancers, a tour of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot - with lunch, and a banquet dinner. Most of your meals are covered during your stay this year! Bob/Mickey have tried to hold the cost to a minimum and still put on a grand reunion. Why not muster with us? FROM MY DESK: (Lots of articles this issue) CAMP PENDLETON HOSPITAL Received this article from Charles (Mac) McKellar HqCo Armor 9/50 -5/51: "Not only is Balboa Naval Hospital receiving our injured heroes but the medical facilities at Camp Pendleton are also at near "No Vacancy" populations. In the latter case it's not money that is needed for our wounded Marines at Pendleton but stuff. Here's why and what they need: At the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom, some of the spouses of the deployed Marines put together hundreds of recovery baskets in anticipation of wounded Marines arriving at our military hospitals. The purpose behind these baskets was to provide the wounded with personal items to be used during their hospital stay and to help fill up their days while being confined in the hospitals. However, due to the higher than anticipated numbers of wounded, |
they are all but out of the supplies to outfit these baskets.
They are in need of the following items: nonperishable food (snacks and candy), DVDs, all sizes of batteries, phone cards, Game Boy games, books and magazines, Domino's Pizza gift certificates (they deliver on base), towels
and wash cloths, and hygiene gear (razors and shaving cream).
These items can be sent to: MSgt William Bonney Office of the Division Inspector 1st Marine Division Rein FMF Bldg 1413 Room 200 Box 555380, Camp Pendleton, CA 92055-5380. For those who elect to send items to the hospital please identify yourself as a member of the First Battalion Seventh Marines Korea 1950-1953-Mac" If you can please pass the word onto friends and those private businesses that may be interested in contributing. Swift and I served with Jack Kightlinger in Korea from December 1960 until he was KIA. I met his parents at Christmas, 1951 in San Francisco. Their address at the time was on Candlestick Lane (house number not known). Jack talked a lot about living in Ukiah, California; so perhaps he still might have family there. I'd like to hear |

SEMPER FI! JIM I received this email from Charles (Mac) McKellar. "This is Bob Beauvais eldest daughter, Lori Anne Bergman. Dad passed away July 18, 2004 after a valiant 5-year battle with lung cancer. We're sure he's guarding the heavenly gates with the rest of the Marines. I am just canceling out the e-mail account now. My husband is a USMC vet from Vietnam so it's all in the family. Our sons, however, have chosen college at this time so there goes the next generation. My e-mail is listed below if anyone wants to contact me. Thanks. Lori" lorib@townisp.com Bob Beauvais was with the 1stPlt 3rdSqd from 7/52 - 7/53.
