A Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, FleetMarine Force, is only one of 27 rifle companies of the 1st Marine Division,Probably no better nor worse than any other rifle company in the Division but"Stable Able" is "MY" company and I am quite proud of it'saccomplishments. I was so very proud to say many times: "Stable Able!Saddle up! Move it out!" We hadprior World War II "China Hands" who knew all the skills of war-fighting,island hopping veterans of WW II who also knew well the art of war-fighting,fuzzy cheeked youngsters who learned how to load and fire the M-1 rifle off thefantail of the troop transport en-route to Korea, college grads, high-schooldrop outs and etc. The bulk of the company were Marine Corps Reserves recalledto active duty leaving families, jobs, businesses, colleges and just gettingsettled in to their civilian pursuits after WW II. We were a hodgepodge of American society but "StableAble" bonded into a "Brotherhood" that can only be accomplishedby "Down and Dirty Combat". Therefore I wish to compile this rosterof our "Fallen Brothers" so I and others can see their names andremember them as the healthy young men that loved and were loved. They are our"Brothers"!

Semper Fidelis,

Sergeant Major J R Skinner, United States Marine Corps (Retired)
